WELCOME FAMILY & FRIENDS

To our friends and family that live afar......I thought this would be the best way to keep all of you included in our lives, so that you can see how Portland is treating us and to witness our children grow. We have been in Portland almost 7 years now and have enjoyed it so. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to view our blog, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy capturing these memorable moments.

Cheers - Ryan, Emilia, Nolan, Mila & Anya

Growing Sisters...

I am 2 and so darn proud!

Anya celebrated turning 2! We had her 2 year appointment, and aftewards headed to the park for some fun in the sun. All is well, Anya is healthy and growing strong (she is going to have to keep up with brother and sister). She also decided to start using the potty chair today, so I am keeping my fingers crossed but thinking this might be the turning point to no diapers...this is all happening so fast. Next she will be asking me for the keys to my car........

Happy Birthday Sweet Anya!

Nolan Turns 7!

Nolan celebrated the big 7 this July 1st. We gave him the option of a birthday party or a trip with dad "just the boys" to Legoland, since we have never been to an adventure park with the kids. He happily chose Legoland and I am sure will remember this trip forever.....we hope ;-) We love you Nolan, hope Legoland was everything you imagined and more...

I will post more photos of pics from Legoland when I retreive my point and shoot camera...although cannot promise miracles as I was not the photographer...left up to dad to take photos.... haaaa

There is something about the smell of nature....

Far away in the Sierra Nevada Mountains there is a place where we love to go......Pinecrest! The Brach's have a cabin here and we escaped here for some fun. We did a road trip with the kids, it took us 13 hours, but it was well worth it. The beauty of the lake and its surroundings is so peaceful, no worries when we are here....here are some moments that were captured.

Uncle Derek and Auntie Maggie were there to greet us as we rolled in with a car full of crap after a 13 hour car ride..you can only imagine....we visited with them for a day, and then Tia came to visit for a day or two so it was a family filled event. We fished, hiked, danced, ate, slept, boated.....and so much more...

Oh and the purple plum on Anya's forehead....she tripped and hit the coffee table...she is all better, but really!!!!!! can we do a vacation without an accident please.....what would that be like?

Oh no you don't....take that....

the classic sequence of an incident where Anya takes Mila's cracker..Mila responds with a pinch, Anya realizes what just happened.......the rest speaks for itself....

Mila & Mommy travel to Maui

Mila and I were invited to go to Maui with our friends Emily and Bailey. This was a very exciting trip for us as Mila and I were going by ourselves, our first adventure together....Maui was beautiful, and the company was excellent. Mila ended up getting something in her eye the first day we were there (we are guessing a piece of sand from all the excitement) and suffered a corneal ulcer that erupted the second day we were there. It lasted our entire trip, and thanks to the amazing opthamologist clinic and Minit Urgent Care folks, we were able to stay in Maui and make the best of our stay. We spent a great deal of time in the shade or shaded with sunglasses, with many doses of eye ointment and drops,....and pretty strict restrictions on what she was able to do (Mila wasn't able to do all the swimming she anticipated nor enjoy the beach or ocean) but she was a trooper. We went for walks to visit other resorts, ate heaps of frozen yogurt and shaved ice. We are so thankful to our friends Emily and Bailey who drove with us every day to the other side of island for Mila's care. Thank you for your patience and the laughs....

Pirate Day...arrrrghhhhhh

Nolan had pirate day at school, so I pulled out an undershirt, some old jeans, and my black eyeliner, and went to town. Here is a picture I took before he headed to school. The black tooth was the coolest thing ever, something I thought had to be done, Nolan was a bit hesitant but finally said, let's do it.

first piggy tales.....
